Lake country with citrus roots
Lake Alfred sits on US-17/92 between Auburndale and Haines City, and Census figures show water making up about four-tenths of the city's total area. Lake Alfred and Lake Swoope are right by downtown, and Mackay Gardens & Lakeside Preserve covers 112 lakeside acres on Mackay Boulevard.
The town's citrus history is still visible: the University of Florida's Citrus Research and Education Center is on Experiment Station Road. You'll find older homes on the grid near downtown, homes on bigger lakefront lots, and newer subdivisions on the edges of town.

Getting outside on a lakeside lot
On lakefront and lake-view lots, the backyard is the main event. Most of our Lake Alfred estimates are for patios, fire pit circles and walkways that lead from the house toward the water. The work is in the grading: water has to run off the patio and away from the house without washing out the base.
Out front, older homes often have a narrow concrete walk. A wider paver walk and entry landing makes the house feel finished.

Questions from Lake Alfred
Can you build a patio that steps down toward the lake?
Often, yes. On sloped lakeside lots we may use steps or a seat wall to handle the grade. We'll look at the slope and drainage during the estimate.
Is Lake Alfred inside your normal area?
Yes. It's about 16 miles from our Lakeland base, roughly 25 minutes on US-92 or I-4, and the estimate is free.
My older pavers have weeds in every joint. Can they be saved?
Usually. We clean them, pull the old joint material, re-sand and seal. If spots have sunk, we re-level those first.
